Buy clothes at Opp Shops"Opp shops" or "Opportunity Shops" are second hand clothing stores operated by charity and aid organisations across Australia. If you are in need of good quality casual clothes, something for a job, or fancy dress, then Opp Shops are the go to.
Staffed by friendly volunteer staff, the clothes available are always first class quality, washed, pressed and peppered with brand names. Often big fashion names will hand off brand new, end of stock lines to the Opp Shops as well, so don't be surprised to find brand new clothes on the racks at times. Accessories, shoes, belts a plenty.
Its rare to find anything about $10 per item, with designer jeans sometimes asking $15 or $20.
So its not hard to find yourself with a brand new wardrobe for less than $100.
"Opp Shops" are so much a part of Australian clothes culture that the organisations behind them have their own special names too:
"Salvos" - Salvation Army
"Vinnies" - St Vincent De Paul
There are other organisations that operate charity in this area, but these are the main too.
Save packing too many clothes or traveling with too much fashion, the Salvos and Vinnies are standing by to rescue your wardrobe.
