Free shelf at Hostels

Sometimes you will go hungry and sometimes you will have a feast, but its common for hostels to have a "free shelf" in their kitchen from which you are welcome to help yourself. You can expect to find at least a range of sauces, condiments, things such as salt and pepper. If you are more lucky you will find rice and pasta.

For most hostels there is the daily time at which the kitchen is clean and items identified in the fridges that have been left behind by departing guests.  this is when you most lucky, as like you there fruit, vegetables, milk, juices. From this you might be able make a nourishing meal.

While mentioning about free shelf at hostels, always be on the look out for an additional charge cable for your iphone, power converter, or other essential travel accessory that might be of value to you down the track. For yourself, or for exchange, such items can be valuable.

In smaller hostels or in the country, hostels might have arrangements or donations made by local business. Be on the look out for good fortune to come your way.
