Asian restaurants and take aways are generally cheaper in Australia

Australians are always amazed to find the price of Asian food so high when visiting other countries and specifically Europe. The  simple explanation for this is that the lower number of Asian migrants in Europe and elsewhere means that Asian style food restaurants are held in high regard alongside other local food fair.  Asian restaurants can therefore charge a normal restaurant price for their flavours.

In Australia the situation is a little different. Over the past 50 years Asian migration to Australia has been in relatively high numbers and so Asian food restaurants, cafe's and takeaways have popped up everywhere.

The result of this situation is increased competition that has generally bought the prices down.

Expect to enjoy fine Asian flavours when eating in Australia for reasonable prices.
