Its a simple and easy way to save some money and completely obvious, but typically fast food stores and chains make Salt, Pepper, Sugar, Napkins and Sauces available for free with purchases.

If you take the opportunity to collect these as you travel when the opportunity presents itself, then your little collection will save the day when a meal or coffee is looking a little tasteless and sad.

Working holiday travelers have been witnessed sprinkling sugar on buttered toast as a super cheap alternative to Nutella, but no where near as tasty. The price though is irresistible.

Particularly if you are on the road, your little store may come to include Coffee sachets, tea bags and more. The savings then really stack up.
