Tasmania west coast and the "Western Explorer"

Sat 17 Mar 2012
Been a big day. After laying about Hobart for so long its a bit of a rush to get back to devonport. Insisted by friends Gary and Katherine I made my way down a well maintained dirt road that rates well on their network to the Pieman river and the punt that takes you across. From their it's 100+ km of dirt over hill and over dale for hours on end. The scenery is breathtaking and perhaps made easier from prior logging leveling everythjng.

You pop out at the west coast and it's boiling surf beaches.... The waves fresh from the Great Australian Bight and places west ward.

Arthur river is the spot for the sunset and tyre change.
