What a year to come.

Fri 01 Jan 2016
Such an interesting year 2015 has been and 2016 so much to look forward to.

A mischievous foray into mortgage broking in late 2014 proved by August 2015 what a great web designer I am!! 8 months of broking turned up regulation after regulation and a banking system chock a block full of red tape.

Leaving that behind, I booked up more web design work in a week than than my whole time in broking ... and packed myself off to Europe.

Time in Amsterdam was a revelation - such a vibrant waterfront city, full of marine and other history. Travelling the canals on a knocked about workboat was pure and simple marine pleasure. Similarly, great times with new friends and old across Belgium, France, Germany and Switzerland.

Quicker than you could say "How many days do you get on Schengen Visa?" time was up, but not before a 9 night sail around the Greek Islands on a trusty Jeanneau 38 charter boats in front of the 20 knot Meltemi. Look forward to going back one day soon and buying at least "part" of a yacht there.

Home in Aussie it is great to be back at Casa Pesca for some months with the fun loving peoples of the world under one roof.

The web work is flooding in now that my skills are back up to date with web design and programming seeming simpler than ever... and the one "template of choice" has allowed me roll out about 10 sites, sometimes inside a day! Old school SEO (search engine optmisation) techniques are working better than ever, with the most fun in the field being the redesign and SEO success of www.WhitehavenXpress.com.au as the best instance of the regenerated skills and search engine work. Given a show down with a client asking for Wordpress and I can turn them around in 30 minutes flat... seems my sales skills aren't so shabby either :)

December and soon to come January are full with an IT and Internet integration project which is moving merged merchandising companies to a new premises and onto the cloud. Out with the Microsoft Servers and clunky old MS Office, and in with Google Docs, Google Sheets and a custom cloud based production management system.

Woodford starts about now for us vollies and a week long camp out that will be loads of fun.

Merry Christmas to all my friends near and farther. All the very best for 2016.

Some photos attached highlight the year.

Moto for 2016: Don't waste a moment
