Feeding the birds

Sat 11 Aug 2012
Flat out day today. Not much time for the hangover deserved this morning. So it was down off to newlywed friends near Rotterdam that I had met first of all on the Great Ocean Road and then later, they found me at the lagoon, Airlie Beach.

They fed me some local dish, raw Herring, before Salmon rolls. Delish...  The Salmon that is... :) and wonderful to talk about their time in Australia and life back home.

Over too soon, I was off to Belgium to find former guest of mine, Sandrine. So nice to find her feeding baby birds at a place for injured and orphaned ones in the forest (of sorts ).

The place has operated for 30 years and just moved to its curent location. Litlle baby birds, sparrows, ducklings, Sparrow Hawk, and some owls. Lovely day for weather too and the weekend promises more of the same!
