Promoting Australian Roadtrips in Europe - Starting 15th July

Wed 01 Jan 2014
The recent downtrend is the Australian dollar has effectively put Australia on sale as a travel destination. With the AUD more than 10 % lower than 12 months ago, and rumoured toward 20%, it is timely to remind the world's travelers that Australia is now on sale as a destination.

Trans Europe Promotional tour
Departing: 16th July - 5th August
This promotional tour is going ahead and is already aligned with the destination of Airlie Beach on the Queensland Whitsunday Coast. We will utilise a local business group's "Heart of the Reef" brand asset.

The "Airlie Beach, Heart of the Reef", has thus far been used to establish numerous billboard locations on Queensland's Bruce Highway. This promotional tour will seek to engage and build audience through Facebook and other online assets to further enhance the brand investment.

The primary means for engagement will be meet and greet functions in 10 cities in 10 countries Europe over 20 days. Covering the equivalent of Australia's span, Portugal in the west is roughly 4000 km from Istanbul in the East.

Engagement via couchsurfing
Audience will be attracted and engaged using the "Couch Surfing"  network. Numbering over 4,000,000 members worldwide, it is the world's largest traveler social media network and boasts incredible membership across Europe. The membership is typically young, educated and tech savvy. In cities across the world, weekly or monthly "meetings" are attended by locals and travelers seeking social and cultural interaction. These people are valuable as leaders of travel opinion, in person and in social media.
