What a Year, what a Whitsunday!
Thu 24 Dec 2009Merry Christmas to my friends and connections. Despite the gfc it's been an amazing year. I can hardly believe 2009 has bought me so much good fortune, great experiences and wonderful people.
Thank you to those that have sent christmas messages or been part of my 2009.
ALL THE BEST TO YOU Now and into the future.
A quick summary of my 2009:
One Jan.
Woke up on the hill side after an amazing 24 hours experiencing the Woodford Folk Festival. It's a great experience and highly recoomended regardless of who you are.
Five Jan.
Hopped onto a plane and was shortly after sailing in Thailand with Charlie and Betty. It was fantastic to experience Phuket in this way.
Fifteen Jan.
Arrived in Rome on the next leg of my world ticket. It was my first time as a couchsurfing guest and enjoyed the company of some great girls. I was shown the city by Ema "random pacman" style while we made an application video for the best job in the world. The memories of this adventure I will never forget.
To April.
Friends, couch surfers and best job applicants open their doors to me in Turin, Isle of Wight, Poole, Paris, Gorge, London, Montreal, St Thomas, Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, Edmonton, LA, and Sydney.
May.
Best job in the world final selection on Hamo had ChannelWhitsunday.com side by side with the world's media as we broadcast over one hour of coverage, interviews and other media in an effort unmatched by all other media teams... and to think most of my "team" were Couch Surfers in CW garb! :)
June to August
Couch surfing has become a major part of my life with so many good people of the world coming to enjoy a slice of my life. India, Estonia, Malaysia have been a few of the more exotic of the countries supplying guests along with the droves of cool peps from uk, France, Belgium, Germany, italy, USA and Canada.
August.
Yacht racing through the Airlie beach race week and Hamilton island race weeks on "Onyva" with John Moore and friends during great weather was so much fun. We managed a third in division at abrw with some great boat speed in light conditions.
September to November.
Cs has become a refined art for me, my French has improved out of site, it's bringing amazing connections, free VIP tix to concerts, and opportunities to promote the Whitsundays into other countries through professional tour company any media outlets as the calibre of guests continuing to climb. During the year I have even had some set their Aussie itineraries based around time on Dotcom... Its very flattering to have people to the Whitsundays specifically to sail with me! I wrote a list of things that CS brings me there over 20!
December.
Due to demand and perhaps the passive marketing efforts (me passive?), 2010 looks like a good year for business. Lucky I have some good people to help and a great client base to support my written life goals to "lead hi tech marketing", "broadcast the Whitsundays to the world", "make a few bucks", "have some fantastic adventures in the company of great people" ... all while enjoying my own best job in the world - the one that I created!
